Devouring Winter
What happens when winter moves like an animal looking for prey, taking villages one at a time, leaving the people either dead or half mad in terror? A few are able to escape and flee south, hoping to make it to Gaelastad, the southernmost country where rumors say the trees never die. There, eighteen-year-old Jonathan watches over his sister who suffers from nightmares, and he vows to protect her from the world of thorns and winter she sees coming.

The encroaching snow and ice continues to bury people alive, and the only people with the power to stop it, the Terakhein, have disappeared. Jonathan's journey to find a little girl--who looks so much like his sister and is possibly the last Terakhein--is their only hope. But can he reach the girl before the guilds find her, or worse, dark creatures from the Wild Lands and Ophidian desert who are also on the hunt? It's a deadly race, one that brings out strange allies and long-forgotten traitors, each vying for power to control the devouring winter--and the fate of the earth.
